Style Profile: Cobber shows his preference for casual-cool
I spotted Evan Marsolek at Concordia College, where I noticed his casual-cool look.
The religion major shared his style sense with me and revealed he’s a huge fan of Gucci, designer cologne and quality clothing.
Describe your style. It depends on the day. I like dressed-down casual. I really enjoy vests, like vests that belong with a suit. I like them with jeans.
What are you wearing? My vest is from JCPenney, shirt is Express, my jeans are Abercrombie and Fitch, my shoes are Sperry and my glasses are Calvin Klein
Have you always been interested in fashion? I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily interested in fashion, but I definitely know what I like. I have my brands that I like, like Diesel’s jeans. I really like how they feel but they’re hard to find in Fargo.
Are you a jeans guy? I’m the kind of person who wears jeans until they’re rags. Some people might say I spend a lot of money on jeans, but I wear them out. I get attached to jeans even after they have holes.
What are your favorite brands? Diesel, Converse and Sperry, and for designers, I love Gucci. That’s me. I’d rather get one nice thing instead of a bunch of cheaper things. The quality of the product is important. I have a Gucci wallet and belt.
I spent a month on Santorini and shopped things made by local Greek designers. I like supporting those local designers that you can’t find here.
What’s your style philosophy? If you don’t feel good in what you’re wearing, I don’t see the point in wearing it.
If it doesn’t feel right, don’t buy it. If people don’t like what I’m wearing, I don’t care. I’m wearing it, I like it, and I like how it feels.
Do you have any favorite cologne? I think I have eight colognes on my shelf right now. A lot of them are pretty much empty, but they all remind me of something. I like Yves Saint Laurent and Versace. Those are my two favorites.
