North Dakota beats Michigan Tech 6-1HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) — Corban Knight had two goals and two assists as eighth-ranked North Dakota beat Michigan Tech 6-1 Friday in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game.
Danny Kristo and Joe Gleason added a goal and two assists apiece as North Dakota notched its sixth straight win on the Huskies’ home ice.
North Dakota (9-5-3, 6-2-3) scored three goals in the second period after Michigan Tech (4-9-3, 3-7-3) had scored to cut its deficit to 2-1.
The Huskies dropped to 0-8-2 when their opponent scores first.
North Dakota goalie Clarke Saunders made 34 saves while Michigan Tech starter Kevin Genoe made 23 stopped in the first two periods and Jamie Phillips made nine in the third.
The win was the largest of the season for North Dakota in terms of point spread.
