The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead is offering continuing education classes for Minnesota contractors.
Classes to fulfill building contractor education requirements will be Jan. 9 and Feb. 6 at Butler Machinery Training Facility, 3401 33rd St. S., Fargo. The same set of classes will be offered both days.
A class for electrical contractors will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 11 at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead.

Welding merit badge day held at Lynnes facility
Lynnes Welding Training, Fargo, offered its first Boy Scout welding merit badge day on Dec. 1, and 28 Boy Scouts from the Northern Lights Council had an opportunity to earn their badges.
Staff volunteers included president Dave Lynnes, instructors Jerod Tengesdal, Carl Tengesdal and Kale Burkey, as well as Jan Wittmayer and Jessica Johnson. The training facility also received donations from vendors for the event, including from Lincoln Electric, Praxair, American Welding and Gas, and Mace Harris.
Bell State Bank moves downtown location
Bell State Bank and Trusts downtown Fargo bank has moved to the former Alerus Financial Building at 15 Broadway.
The building was purchased by Bell State Bank earlier this year. Bell State Bank is in a temporary space on the third floor of the building and a major building remodeling project will start soon and is scheduled for completion in mid-2013. Alerus will continue to occupy main-floor space in the building until April.
During remodeling, Bell State Banks downtown hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Regular expanded banking hours, along with drive-up service, will be available after remodeling is complete.
By mid-2013, Bell State Bank will anchor the 15 Broadway building with its downtown banking location and its wealth management division, and will occupy 30,000 square feet of the approximately 65,000-square-foot building. The remaining space is now leased to other tenants.
Employer support award nominees being sought
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense agency, is accepting nominations for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the nations highest award for employers support of Guard and Reserve members.
Employers of every size and industry are eligible and family members may submit nominations on behalf of a guardsman or reservist.
More information and nomination forms are available at www.FreedomAward.mil. The deadline to submit a nomination is Jan. 21.
Award recipients will be announced in early summer and honored during a ceremony in the fall in Washington.
Holiday craft show, open house set at Oles
There will be a holiday craft show and open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Oles Nursery, 2503 Center Ave., Moorhead.
