Choice Financial hires personal banker

Nichole Shell has joined Choice Fi-nancial as a personal banker at the branch at 4501 23rd Ave. S., Fargo.

Shell has several years of banking experience, including positions as a personal banker, loan assistant, loan review specialist and customer service representative. She also has a credit life and disability license.

Dahl, Rudnick join TMI Hospitality in Fargo

TMI Hospitality, Fargo, has hired Heather Dahl as quality assurance coordinator and Kristin Rudnick as accounts payable specialist.

Dahl received a bachelors degree in business/management information systems. She previously worked as the front office manager at Menards, Marinette, Wis.

Rudnick graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelors degree in mass communications. She most recently was an executive assistant for Eclipse Consulting, Vancouver, Wash.

Schoepp named Ramada banquet set-up manager

The Ramada Plaza and Suites and Conference Center in Fargo has appointed Allen Schoepp as banquet set-up manager.

Schoepp, a graduate of North Dakota State University, is originally from Steele, N.D. He has 16 years of experience as the facilities manager with Trollwood Performing Arts School and Bluestem Center for the Arts, Moorhead.

Leslie named executive assistant at The Forum

Allison Leslie has been named the executive assistant to Publisher Bill Marcil Jr. at The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead.

Leslie graduated from Josefs School of Hair Design, Fargo, and from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead, with an associate degree in business, management, marketing and sales.

She previously worked at Rejuv Skin and Laser Clinic and at Eddie and Barkus, both in Fargo, before joining The Forum in August as an advertising sales assistant.

Leher hired as account executive at Hawley firm

Implementation Specialists, Hawley, Minn., has hired Walter Leher as an account executive.

Leher studied computer science and programming at the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, and also has a bachelors degree in business management from the University of Mary. He has more than 10 years of management experience and more than five years of sales and technology experience with Microsoft products and licensing.

NDSCS makes four employee moves

The North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, has named Tonya Stokka as the Pathway program coordinator and Taya Spelhaug as the trainND training account executive. Both positions are at the NDSCS campus in Fargo.

Tim Neumann has been hired as donor development manager, and Kim Hansen has been hired as the events/data and Web coordinator. Both will be working at the Wahpeton campus.

Stokka graduated from Concordia College with a bachelors degree in history and political science and is pursuing a masters degree in educational leadership in higher education from North Dakota State University. She has been employed at NDSCS since 2008 and previously served as the enrollment service specialist in Wahpeton.

Spelhaug graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in mental health counseling. She has been employed at NDSCS for more than four years and previously served as the director of student success and career services in Wahpeton.

Neumann previously worked in the financial service industry and was the head wrestling coach at the University of Nebraska for 15 years.

Hansen graduated from NDSCS, and she earned a degree from the University of Mary in computer information systems. She previously worked in the manufacturing industry and held several positions with 3M, Imation and ComDel Innovation.

Otter Tail Power Co. promotes 2 employees

Otter Tail Power Co., Fergus Falls, Minn., has promoted Tim Rogelstad to vice president and Brad Tollerson to director of power services and resource planning.

Rogelstad was previously manager of transmission planning. He earned a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from North Dakota State University and is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. He has been with Otter Tail Power Co. for 23 years and has worked in a managerial role for more than 10 years.

Tollerson earned a bachelors degree in electrical engineering and a masters degree in business administration from NDSU. He is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota and has been with Otter Tail Power Co. for more than 15 years.

Hjelle joins St. Sophies in Fargo as therapist

St. Sophies of North Dakota Psychiatric Clinic, Fargo, has hired Catherine Hjelle as a therapist.

Hjelle graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead and earned a masters degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She has been a mental health provider for 25 years in hospital settings and in private practice.

Hjelle provides individual, family and couples counseling. She has experience working with victims of physical and sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, ADHA, grief/loss issues and womens issues.

She joins Dr. Emmet Kenney and Kevin Schumacher at St. Sophies, which specializes in psychiatric health care for all ages.

Three hired at Fargo, Moorhead KLJ offices

KLJ, an engineering, surveying and planning firm, has hired J.W. Weeks as a surveyor III in the Fargo office, and Jon Pauna as an engineer II and Amanda Weber as an engineer technician, both in the Moorhead office.

Weeks is a registered professional land surveyor with experience in land development and topographic and boundary surveys. He has more than 17 years of experience in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois and North Dakota. He specializes in residential and commercial development, utility infrastructure and subdivisions platting.

Pauna earned a bachelors degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University. He is a registered professional engineer in North Dakota and Minnesota and has eight years of related experience.

Weber earned a bachelors degree in civil engineering and international relations with a minor in Spanish from NDSU.

Applied Engineering hires design engineer

Brandon Miller has joined Applied Engineering in Fargo as a design engineer.

Miller graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering.

Fargo Housing hires Peters for maintenance

The Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority has hired Mike Peters to work in building maintenance at New Horizons, Pioneer and SRO.

Peters previously worked as the maintenance manager for Trollwood Village Apartments in Fargo.

He has several years of experience in building maintenance and operations.

The Village hires Swang as network technician

The Village Family Service Center in Fargo has hired Bryan Swang as an internal technician to assist the network manager.

Swang is a graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College and he was previously employed by Nash Finch.

Beyond Shelter hires Schmitz as a developer

Chris Schmitz has joined Beyond Shelter, Fargo, as a developer of new affordable housing projects to serve low- to moderate-income households.

Schmitz has more than 12 years of experience in the hospitality, property management and development industries.

F-M Ambulance hires six new EMTs

F-M Ambulance, Fargo, has hired Joey Paul, Autumn Nelson, Jeff Hale, Jon Peterson, Jessie Pestel and Kelsey Bodvig as emergency medical technicians.

All are nationally registered EMTs and current students in the F-M Ambulance/North Dakota State School of Science paramedic program.

Laneys hires Johnson as electrical manager

Matt Johnson has joined Laneys, Fargo, as the electrical department manager.

Johnson is a master electrician and has more than 12 years of experience in the residential and commercial electrical contracting industry.

He earned a bachelors degree in operations management from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a diploma in electrical construction from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead.

Cornerstone Bank hires operations assistants

Michelle Barstad and Nyla Strelau have joined Cornerstone Bank in Fargo as operations assistants.

Barstad has more than two years of bank experience and Strelau has more than 19 years of experience as a billing/customer service specialist.

Varistar Corp. appoints Pacella, Wahlund

David Pacella has been appointed vice president of operations and Todd Wahlund has been named vice president, finance and planning, for Varistar Corp., the diversified businesses of Otter Tail Corp. They will be based in the corporate office in Fargo.

Pacella has an extensive background in operations, having worked most recently as vice president of operations at DMI Industries, a former Otter Tail company. He also previously served as president of Gulf Chemical and Metallurgical Co., vice president of operations at The Louis Berkman Winter Products Co., plant manager at Armstrong World Industries, and general manager at LTV Steel Co.

Pacella has a bachelors degree in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a masters degree in management from Purdue University.

Wahlund most recently was vice president, renewables and power services, for Otter Tail Power Co. His 20 years of experience includes various finance and planning roles in the areas of strategic planning, financial management, business analytics, risk management, accounting and taxes. Wahlund has a bachelors degree in accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Three new hires at First International Insurance

First International Insurance, Fargo, has hired Doreen Dirk and Christine Schonhoff in customer service and Rick Johnson as an agent.

Dirk, Schonhoff and Johnson each have more than 20 years of professional insurance experience.

Gate City promotes 3 to senior management

Gate City Bank, Fargo, has promoted Kevin Hanson to executive vice president, director of mortgage and business lending, Maureen Jelinek to executive vice president, director of operations, and Kim Shuckhart to executive vice president, director of human resources and marketing.

Hanson has been employed at Gate City Bank since 1983 and was most recently the banks residential mortgage lending manager. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead and the American Bankers Association National Graduate School of Banking.

Jelinek has been employed at Gate City Bank since 1992 and most recently was the banks deposit administration and servicing manager. She is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.

Shuckhart has been employed at Gate City Bank since 1983 and was most recently the banks human resources manager. She is a graduate of MSUM and the American Bankers Association National Graduate School of Banking.

Wildflowers Salon hires Anderson as stylist

Casey Anderson has joined Wildflowers Salon, Fargo, as a stylist.

She specializes in coloring, cutting, pedicures and waxing.

Anderson is a graduate of Brown Aveda Institute in Rocky River, Ohio, and she previously worked at Arz Salon in suburban Cleveland.

Taszarek joins Thrivent Financial for Lutherans

Tim Taszarek, Fargo, has joined Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as a financial representative with the northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota regional financial office in Fargo.

Taszarek previously worked at Gateway Nissan in Fargo. He is a graduate of the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton.
