Bison softball coach says probe could spur disciplineFARGO – A member or members of the North Dakota State University women’s softball team could face discipline as part of an ongoing investigation, the head coach said Thursday.
“As we find things out, there are probably going to be some sanctions,” said NDSU head softball coach Darren Mueller. “We’re still looking and sorting through the information.”
Mueller wouldn’t give any details regarding the investigation, including the number of players that may be involved.
Lynn Dorn, the NDSU director of women’s athletics, deferred comment to Mueller, saying “it’s a discipline” issue.
Laura McDaniel, the school’s assistant vice president of public relations, also deferred comment to Mueller.
NDSU police couldn’t be immediately reached for comment late Thursday.
Mueller said the current investigation is to see if any team or university rules were violated. Once that is completed, Mueller said any player or players involved would receive appropriate discipline.
