Red Kettle matching funds available FridayFARGO – Donations made to Salvation Army kettles Friday will be doubled with up to $5,000 in matching funds provided by Nova Fire Protection.
“Fire up the Kettles Day” is an annual event in which off-duty firefighters from Fargo and Moorhead, along with fire technician students, will ring bells from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at locations throughout Fargo and Moorhead.
The day also marks the end of a competition between local Realtors, law enforcement and firefighters to see which group can raise the most kettle donations in one day.
The firefighters must beat the Realtors leading total of $25,831 to win. Local law enforcement raised $15,902, an amount well above the average daily kettle intake of $13,000.
