Weekend watch: ‘A Celtic Holiday’
Christmas is a time for old world traditions and the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony taps into the Emerald Isle for its annual holiday pops concert. Dubbed “A Celtic Holiday,” associate conductor Jane Linde Capistran and her ensemble pair up with local folk Irish act Poitin.
Best known for rollicking shows at Dempsey’s, the string band brings some stomping good jigs and reels to the more classically minded symphony creating a stomping good time at the Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway. The groups get their Gaelic on at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $9 for students, $15 for seniors and $18 for adults. (701) 478-3676.
