Three arrested in Fargo after woman says she was assaulted, robbed in Grand Forks
According to a police report, officers responded to a robbery call at about 9 p.m. Tuesday. A woman told police she was assaulted and robbed by two men she had met earlier in the evening. Based on the victim's description of the men and the vehicle they were driving, the North Dakota Highway Patrol made a traffic stop in Cass County, N.D., according to the Grand Forks Police Department.
The two male robbery suspects and a female were arrested by the Patrol for miscellaneous charges including carrying a concealed weapon, as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Evidence linking the suspects to the earlier robbery also was found, officials said.
Fargo police assisted the patrol during the arrests at the Stop-N-Go store at 3220 12th Ave. N., Lt. Joel Vettel said.
Arrested were: William Antoine Dontae Meadows, 35, for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana; Semereab Tesfaye, 24, for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana while operating a motor vehicle and Kia Yang, 26, for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Charges of robbery, aggravated assault and terrorizing have been forwarded to the Grand Forks County States Attorney's office and the charges are pending against Meadows and Tesfaye. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at (701) 787-800.
