Fargo anglers OK after falling through icePELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. – Two Fargo men fell through the ice on Grove Lake northwest of here Friday night.
Colton Kellen and Jacob Stevens, both 20, called 911 after they got out of the water and made it to shore, but they didn’t know where they were. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department received the call around 8:50 p.m.
Kellen and Stevens were located on Grove Lake Road, cold but otherwise uninjured.
According to a news release, the victims said there were 4 to 5 inches of ice where they were fishing, but they became disoriented when leaving the ice and were heading in the opposite direction of their vehicle when they fell in.
They were checked by Pelican Ambulance, but denied any further medical treatment.
