Style profile: Creative writer mixes glamour with casual

FARGO - Casual, quirky femininity has been fashionable ever since J. Crew’s president, Jenna Lyons, became the most recognizable face of the style.

Danielle Naboulsi, a creative writer at Sundog, embodies the same laid-back glamour that Lyons is so well known for. I spotted Naboulsi downtown at Bristol Place Loft Apartments, where she lives.

While she may share style sense with one of fashion’s influential ladies, Naboulsi says she dresses for herself, and not anybody else.

What are you wearing?

Gap blazer and jeans, a thrifted blouse and jewelry, and BCBG shoes.

Describe your style.

I tell people it’s like your grandma got into menswear, or kind of like a kid getting into their mom’s jewelry box.

Where do you find fashion inspiration?

The Man Repeller (a fashion blog by Leandra Medine) and Jenna Lyons.

What’s your favorite accessory?

I love my thrifted watches. Some are my mom’s. I like to layer them.

Do you have a favorite trend?

I’m loving the hints of leather everywhere, and I love that menswear is coming back.

What’s your favorite season for style?

Fall. There are no rules, and the boots come out of the closet. I love layering everything.

Do you have favorite vacation spots?

I went to Lebanon last summer, and I also love Portland, Ore., New York City and Washington, D.C. I like anywhere that’s different.

Has travel influenced your style?

I grew up all over the place, and it definitely made me more daring – anything goes.

What’s your favorite nail polish color?

OPI Midnight in Paris. It’s a dark purple color.
