Parts of Dakotas in for a snowy weekend

FARGO - Parts of the Dakotas are in for a snowy weekend.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks says light snow will

develop tonight across the Devils Lake region spreading northeast

overnight into Saturday. Accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are possible.

A stronger system may bring more significant snow amounts to far

southeast North Dakota into west-central Minnesota Saturday night into

Sunday, the weather service said. Gusty winds may also cause areas of

blowing and drifting snow as well as hazardous wind chills.

The National Weather Service has also posted a winter weather advisory for central and east central South Dakota through Friday, and a winter storm watch for the north central and northeast parts of the state Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. Forecasters say some areas could get 4 inches or more of snow.
