PULSE ‘Reason Tour’ slated for tonight at 7FARGO – While he’s known both locally and nationally for spreading messages of love and the Christian faith to youths, Fargo native Nick Hall is trying something a little different this month.
Hall’s organization, PULSE, is debuting its “The Reason Tour,” a Christmas event with stops in 10 cities, including Fargo tonight at Bethel Church.
“Around Christmas, there are so many distractions,” Hall said, such as consumers worrying about finding the right gifts. “It’s easy to lose sight of what the season’s really about.”
What makes The Reason slightly different from the events PULSE is known for is that it’s targeted to all ages, not just teenagers and college students.
The Reason will feature Hall as a speaker, along with musical acts Kutless, Moriah Peters and Dave Lubben.
Hall said Christmas music is something that brings people together, as the only genre of music all generations can agree on.
Other PULSE events are done in a similar format, with music and multimedia demonstrations, but students’ stories are also shared.
“We’ve seen it literally change lives,” Hall said.
PULSE events address issues such as binge drinking, addictions, depression, suicide, bullying and self-mutilation, Hall said.
“We really want to meet students where they’re at,” he said. “We don’t want anyone to feel alone. We let them know that people care, and as Christians we let them know that God cares.”
The idea for PULSE started as an English paper Hall wrote while studying at North Dakota State University. At the time, he had no idea it would become a movement affecting hundreds of thousands of students nationally, over the years.
“God continues to move,” Hall said, “and we’re glad to continue on this journey.”
