MSCTC to launch ‘Winterim’ classes

MOORHEAD – A new program at Minnesota State Community and Technical College will allow students to take a three-credit course during a “Winterim” session scheduled over the upcoming winter break.

Through a pilot program, students can enroll in a course that meets for seven hours a day for seven days between Dec. 26 and Jan. 7.

Available classes and participating campuses are as follows:

• Detroit Lakes: general psychology

• Fergus Falls: college writing 1 and general psychology

• Moorhead: introduction to watercolor, introduction to public speaking and introduction to sociology

The program is designed for college students, at M State or another college, who want to use winter break to fit an extra course into their schedule or need to complete a general education course.

Classes will meet Dec. 26-28 and Jan. 2-4 and 7, with two make-up days on Jan. 10-11, in case of inclement weather.

Some courses may require assignments or projects that are submitted prior to the end of January.

For more information, call (877) 450-3322 or visit Minnesota.edu/7x7. The deadline to enroll is Dec. 20.
