MSCTC to launch ‘Winterim’ classesMOORHEAD – A new program at Minnesota State Community and Technical College will allow students to take a three-credit course during a “Winterim” session scheduled over the upcoming winter break.
Through a pilot program, students can enroll in a course that meets for seven hours a day for seven days between Dec. 26 and Jan. 7.
Available classes and participating campuses are as follows:
• Detroit Lakes: general psychology
• Fergus Falls: college writing 1 and general psychology
• Moorhead: introduction to watercolor, introduction to public speaking and introduction to sociology
The program is designed for college students, at M State or another college, who want to use winter break to fit an extra course into their schedule or need to complete a general education course.
Classes will meet Dec. 26-28 and Jan. 2-4 and 7, with two make-up days on Jan. 10-11, in case of inclement weather.
Some courses may require assignments or projects that are submitted prior to the end of January.
