LaMoure police chief dragged during car chaseLaMOURE, N.D. — The LaMoure police chief was dragged during a car chase that went through farm fences and two plowed fields before the driver was arrested in an abandoned barn.
Police Chief Ian Mattice says the driver rammed a sheriff's car during the Wednesday chase. Joshua McCleary of Dickey is charged with driving under the influence, fleeing arrest and spitting on a police officer.
Mattice says the chase began after he got a report of “some guy tearing through town” in LaMoure.
McCleary rammed a sheriff's car that was blocking his path. When Mattice reached into McCleary's car to arrest him, McCleary put his car into reverse and dragged the chief.
Mattice says he got some bumps and bruises from the incident.
