Six F-M radio stations part of pending saleFARGO – Triad Broadcasting, which owns six radio stations here, is being sold to a Portland, Ore., company, officials said Friday.
Based out of Monterey, Calif., Triad Broadcasting owns Fargo’s Go Radio – a station cluster that includes Froggy 99.9, FM 105.1, 107.9 The FOX, Q98 Rocks, 1660 ESPN and 1450 KBMW. Triad also owns stations in Mississippi, West Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and Illinois.
Go Radio manager Michael Brooks and Triad Broadcasting Chief Financial Officer Brian Emkjer both said the change will have no impact on the Fargo stations.
Although the change was just made public Friday, Brooks said he and other employees have known about it for a while.
“We’ve been kept very in the loop, so no surprises here,” he said.
Triad is selling a total of 32 stations to L&L Broadcasting, LLC.
“Investors buy and sell all the time, and it was just time for our investors to sell,” Emkjer said.
The transaction is pending federal approval and is anticipated to close in the spring of 2013, according to a news release.
L&L CEO Larry Wilson did not return a phone call Friday.
According to the news release, Wilson is also chairman of Alpha Broadcasting in Portland, which has six stations there.
