Martin named North Dakota’s top assistant principal

BISMARCK – Shane Martin, assistant principal at Fargo’s Ben Franklin Middle School was recently named the state’s 2013 Assistant Principal of the Year by the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals.

He is now eligible to be considered for the 2013 NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year award.

The National Association of Secondary School Principals and Virco annually honor a winner from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Education Activity schools.

From this pool, three national finalists will be named in January.

The national winner will be named in March.

National finalists each receive a grant of $1,500, and the national winner receives a grant of $5,000.

Martin and the other state winners will be honored at a three-day event in Washington, D.C., in April.
