Riding therapy program receives match donation

Child care program awarded $15,000 grant

Child Care Resource and Referral, a program of Lakes and Prairies Community Action Partnership, Fargo, has received a $15,000 grant from Dakota Medical Foundation, Fargo. The funds will support the ChildCareAlive! program in Cass and Clay counties, which provides information, on-site assistance and incentives for child care homes and centers to make healthy food and physical activity choices for children up to age 5.

Tweet it Forward raises $5,525 for United Way

Bell State Bank and Trust raised $5,525 for local United Way organizations through its Tweet it Forward Twitter promotion. The bank donated $5 for each tweet or retweet to #BellBanksPIF2012 during the promotion period from Oct. 17 to Nov. 15.

Chili feed, contest raises funds for charity

An annual chili feed and contest on Oct. 10 sponsored by Roers and Keller Williams Roers Realty, Fargo, raised more than $11,600 for the homeless and hungry through donations from business sponsors and free-will donations. More than 40 different types of chili were served, made by Fargo-Moorhead area residents and businesses. Winners of the chili contest were: Mosaic Foods, white bean chicken chili, first place; West Fargo Police Association, elk chili, second; and Todd Randall, white chili, third.

Community of Care receives two grants

Community of Care, Arthur and Casselton, N.D., has received a $1,000 grant from the F-M Area Foundation Womens Fund for the One Stop Service Center. It also received a $3,000 grant from the foundation for the volunteer program to assist rural Cass County seniors.
