Favorite movies to spark holiday cheerEditor’s note: “5 Things Friday” is a weekly feature in SheSays that will run on – you guessed it – Fridays. It will focus on quick tips, ideas, activities and more – all in bunches of five. If you have a “5 Things Friday” suggestion, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There’s much about the holiday season that doesn’t cheer me, but Christmas movies are an exception.
I’m more than willing to put up with the annoyances of Christmas music played on loop through cramped stores as long as I can unwind at the end of a cold day with a holiday flick.
This is my top pick for holiday movies because smiling is, in fact, my favorite, and I believe in the four food groups: Candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup.
“Love Actually” (2003)
I hear your collective groans, but suck it up, this is my list.
“It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946)
This film embodies holiday tradition, and I doubt I’ve ever gone a Christmas without watching.
“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989)
It’s not Christmas without the Griswolds.
“Muppet Christmas Carol” (1992)
You can’t really go wrong when you combine Charles Dickens and the Muppets.
If only I weren’t limited to five.
