Fugitive arrested in Fargo apartment while hiding in suitcase

FARGO – A woman wanted by authorities for violating a supervised release order was arrested here today when U.S. marshals found her hiding in a suitcase.

According to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service High Plains Fugitive Task Force:

Deputy marshals began searching for Misty Dawn Streed in an apartment at 2918 7th St. N. in Fargo Wednesday morning.

Deputy marshals found 38-year-old Streed hiding in a suitcase that was zipped shut. Deputies had a hard time opening the suitcase because part of Streed’s hair became caught in the zipper.

Streed was taken to the federal courthouse in Fargo for arraignment.

A warrant for her arrest had been issued for violating a supervised release order. Streed pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine in March and was awaiting a sentencing hearing scheduled for Jan. 2 in federal court.

Deputy marshals found three other people inside the apartment, including Steed’s boyfriend and Pau-la Harland, 45.

Harland was arrested after authorities found she had six outstanding warrants including a Cass County warrant charging her with felony conspiracy to commit forgery and four counts of failing to pay child support.

Harland was taken to Cass County jail and is awaiting a court appearance.
