Letter: Main Avenue plans by city are welcomeIt was with great pleasure that I read about the city of Fargo’s efforts (in coordination with the North Dakota Department of Transportation) to improve overall conditions for driving, walking and bicycling on Main Avenue.
Conditions for walking and bicycling on Main between 10th and 18th streets are especially deplorable. I have walked and ridden my bicycle on and along Main Avenue numerous times in the past few years for utilitarian purposes. A truly dedicated space for pedestrians and bicyclists will be greatly appreciated.
Since there is no transit service on Main Avenue thus far, there will likely be incredible value added for a dedicated off-road area for pedestrians and bicyclists. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to walk and bicycle safely and efficiently along Main Avenue.
