Fire damages Agronomy Center in Fairmount, NDFAIRMOUNT, N.D. – A late morning fire here caused extensive damage to the Fairmount Agronomy Center on Saturday.
No one was injured.
Rescue crews responded to the fire around 10:45 a.m. at 107 Front St., Fairmount, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release.
Authorities believe the fire started in the engine compartment of a pickup that was stored inside the center.
Smoke and flames significantly damaged the inside of the building, the release said.
The pickup was parked in the garage since around 5 p.m. Friday, when the business closed for the weekend, the sheriff’s office said.
Fairmount is a city of about 375 people 15 miles south of Wahpeton.
