Fight leads to stabbing on party bus in West Fargo

WEST FARGO – A man was stabbed after a fight broke out on a party bus here early Saturday morning.

According to a news release from the West Fargo Police Department:

Officers were called just before 6 a.m. and told there was a fight on a bus but the caller did not know where the bus was.

Police found the party bus stopped at 19th Avenue West and Sheyenne Street. About a dozen people were still on the bus. A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the head.

The man received minor injuries and was treated in the ambulance. His name was not released.

The suspect, 24-year-old Jason Shonblom, of Moorhead, was also injured when a scuffle broke out to get the knife away from him, according to the release.

Shonblom was taken to the hospital by ambulance and later arrested for aggravated assault. He was taken to the Cass County Jail.

The cause of the fight is still unknown, police said. The incident remains under investigation.

Party buses are vehicles that either host many people for parties on board or take multiple partiers to and from parties or bars.
