TRADE TALK: New nutrition store opens on 45th St.
Ryan Burwick, a licensed nutritionist and fitness trainer, opened Nutrition Zone Fargo in the 45th Street Marketplace on Nov. 1. The shop is a health and diet supplement vendor.
Burwick, a Dickinson, N.D., native, opened his first North Dakota Nutrition Zone store in Bismarck before deciding to open the second store in Fargo.
Burwick said he hopes to make customers comfortable as soon as they walk in the shop. He also gives free consultations at his shop, answering simple questions such as how to find the right supplement as well as the more complicated questions such as helping clients prepare a full plan to complete their goals.
Nutrition Zone Fargo is at 1801 45th St. S., Suite R, in Fargo. For more information, call (701) 205-1634.
Fargo Inn & Suites
A renovation of the Fargo Inn & Suites will soon be completed, making it a smoke-free property by Dec. 15.
Fargo Inn & Suites, formerly known as the Select Inn at 1025 38th St. S., changed names on May 1. Renovation inside and out then got under way said General Manager Paul Kamrud.
“The outside was just cosmetic. We decided on a new look and a new name, just to compete more in the Fargo-Moorhead area,” Kamrud said.
He said the locally owned hotel was renovated on the exterior, with new signage and parking lot light upgrades.
A guest laundry area will be added inside and 10 rooms have been renovated.
“We’ll be continuing to upgrade our rooms now until the foreseeable future,” Kamrud said.
Perhaps the biggest change to the 116-room hotel is a move to smoke-free.
The hotel’s bar, “The Box,” also received some cosmetic upgrades.
‘Retro’ shop open
The Basement, a retro and vintage shop that sells clothing, tchotchke and jewelry is open at the Moorhead Center Mall.
Owner Amber Fredericks said she opened the shop after moving to Moorhead from Las Vegas.
Fredericks has a taste for vintage flare, with pin-up girl style but had a hard time finding clothes and brands of the kinds she liked.
“I wanted to bring that style here because there was no one that carried the brands I like,” she said.
Fredericks carries brands such as Lucky 13, Go-Go and Fluff.
The Basement is open from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
