Weekend watch: B.B. King at Shooting Star CasinoFriday
It’s been a good year for blues fans locally. In addition to the annual Fargo Blues Fest blues connoisseurs also took in Buddy Guy in March. Now B.B. King, the King of the Blues, takes the stage at Shooting Star Casino, Mahnomen, Minn. at 8 p.m. Friday.
Time has taken its toll on the 87-year-old’s knees as he plays seated, but his mind is still sharp and he’s a colorful story teller. Most importantly, his fingers are in fine form and he’ll lay down classic licks like “Let the Good Times Roll,” “How Blue Can You Get” and his trademark, “The Thrill is Gone.”
Music starts at 8 p.m. with tickets for $30 and $40 for this all-ages show. (800) 313-7469
