‘Shine into the Holidays’ kicks off Thursday

FARGO – The fourth annual “Shine into the Holidays” event here kicks off Thursday night with an open house at downtown businesses and the official lighting of the trees.

About 40 businesses will participate in the annual event, sponsored by the Downtown Community Partnership.

After the lighting at 7 p.m., businesses will remain open until 10 p.m.

Additional downtown holiday events through December include:

Tuesday: Xcel Energy Holiday Lights Parade, 6:30 p.m.

Nov. 24: On Small Business Saturday, locally owned businesses downtown will offer their best post-Thanksgiving deals, instead of on Black Friday.

Dec.1: “The Grinch Stole Christmas … and Stashed it Downtown,” includes a full day of events. The Grinch will roam the area, ready to take photos with children of all ages. Horse-drawn carriage rides and carolers also will be downtown from noon to 6 p.m.

Dec. 6 and 13: On “Downtown Dreams Night,” women will have the chance to register their holiday wish list by visiting downtown shops. Participating stores will be open until 10 p.m.

Dec. 20: On “Last Minute Men’s Night,” men who have waited to do their Christmas shopping are invited to shop downtown Fargo. Gift wrapping will be offered at some locations.
