Light snow, cold winds this weekend in FM areaFARGO – A snowstorm system moving in from the west that could dump 6 to 10 inches in the Devils Lake Basin to the north will largely miss the metro area, leading to a windy but relatively dry weekend, according to a National Weather Service meteorologist.
Fargo-Moorhead can expect a cloudy day today with a 50 percent chance of light rain, highs in the mid-to-low 40s and winds of around 10 to 20 mph, said John Hoppes, of the weather service’s Grand Forks office.
Sunday will be windy and cool, with highs in the mid-20s, but wind chills settling around 10 degrees.
Light “dustings of snow” are possible today and Sunday, highs will stay in the mid-20s through Monday.
Hoppes said heavy snow this weekend will miss the Fargo area but will hit hard in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
Parts of western and central North Dakota were under winter weather and travel advisories Friday night.
