Bras on Broadway raises over $134KFARGO – With a month’s worth of fundraising events, the seventh annual Bras on Broadway raised more than $134,000 for breast cancer patients in the region.
At the final event at The Hotel Donaldson in downtown Fargo, 95 pieces of wearable and non-wearable art donated by local artists were auctioned.
The highest bid for a wearable piece was $1,000 for “Renaissance in Pink,” created by Shara Diers and modeled by breast cancer survivor Janelle Meier.
Several businesses and individuals contributed, such as North Dakota State University student Kayla Houchin, who raised $4,000 selling cupcakes.
“The event is community driven and locally given,” says hotel owner Karen Stoker. “The support from local businesses, artists and community members is amazing and inspiring.”
To date, Bras on Broadway has raised over $429,000.
