Former POW to speak Wednesday at NDSUFARGO – Retired Lt. Col. Barry Bridger will present “Salute to Service, Sacrifice and Survival” at noon Wednesday in the Memorial Union Century Theater at North Dakota State University.
His presentation is part of several events planned at NDSU on Wednesday in recognition of Veterans Day.
Bridger is a highly decorated U.S. Air Force veteran who was shot down in 1967 over North Vietnam and was subsequently captured by the North Vietnamese and imprisoned.
For more than six years, he was one of about 350 Americans held captive at the “Hanoi Hilton” prison, where U.S. Sen. John McCain was also held.
Bridger’s talk is free and open to the public.
