Letter: Roers always ready to helpAs president of the board of directors of Churches United for the Homeless, I have had the opportunity to work alongside many wonderful and giving people. We rely on volunteers for almost every aspect of our ministry. Jim Roers is one of those volunteers who has been giving for years and has been instrumental in our ability to grow our facility.
When we were outgrowing the worn-out church that served as our home for years, Roers helped us locate and renovate our new facility in Moorhead. Roers has continued to support our facility by updating areas as we needed more space for residents and bringing in a group every year to paint family rooms, replace carpet and freshen up spaces so that they aren’t worn down and shabby.
Every year, we host an event called the Gourmet Soup Kitchen, which is our single largest fundraiser annually. Roers and his wife, Sandra, have been an integral part of ensuring the success of this event and making sure that each year is better than the last.
When you decide who you are voting for these next few days, please consider all of the efforts that the candidates make for our community.
I hope you will join me in supporting Roers for the North Dakota Senate.
