Letter: The right diversion project is vital for Cass County

I have to start by thanking The Forum’s editorial board for the kind remarks regarding my qualifications to be a Cass County commissioner. It was much appreciated. I have worked hard for many years to develop my resumé, and I want to use those qualifications to work for the people of Cass County.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear: I fully support flood protection for the city of Fargo and the surrounding area. That being said, I truly believe as public servants, we have to make responsible decisions for all involved as we are the sounding board and the voice for the entire county and therefore must always keep an open mind. Since the flood protection plan is not complete, there will be many questions. As a public servant, I intend to be accessible to all residents as the process continues.

I believe the Diversion Authority is working in the right direction by looking into many options to lessen the negative impacts for all involved. I would be honored to be a part of this process.

Pyle is candidate for Cass County commissioner.
