Parsons Electric, Minneapolis, has purchased Moorhead Electric from Otter Tail Power Co. The purchase was effective Oct. 19.
Moorhead Electric will continue to operate under its current name and will remain based in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Parsons Electric is headquartered in Minneapolis and has affiliated offices in five cities in Minnesota and one in Phoenix.
Lodging Opportunity Fund buys Idaho hotel
The Lodging Opportunity Fund, Fargo, has purchased the Super 8 motel in Pocatello, Idaho.
Norman Leslie is president of LOF, which is based in Fargo and also has offices in Eden Prairie, Minn.
A major renovation of the property is planned and will include a new exterior, lobby and flooring and remodeled guest rooms.
St. Josephs School adds tech upgrades
St. Josephs School in Moorhead has issued each sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade student a laptop/tablet for the school year, and the school has also installed several projectors and Mimio Teach devices in its classrooms.
The funds for the technology upgrades were raised through St. Josephs annual dinner, dance and auction event in March.
Donors recognized for bison statue project
A bronze statue of a bison has been installed in Bison Plaza at North Dakota State University on Albrecht Boulevard between Minard Hall and the library.
The project was funded through donations to the North Dakota State University Development. Those contributing to the project included: Jim (1974) and Sandra Roers, Fargo; Ron (1962) and Kay Olson, Wayzata, Minn.; Bernice Pavek in memory of Les Pavek, former vice president of student affairs at NDSU; Julie Barner in memory of Mike Barner (1965, 1972), former Alumni Association board member; and from the 2011-12 NDSU Student Government.
A dedication ceremony for the statue is planned in the spring.
Nichols Chiropractic hosting food drive
Nichols Chiropractic, 4553 9th Ave. S., Fargo, is collecting nonperishable food items next week for a Thanksgiving food drive.
Nonperishable food items can be dropped off during office hours Monday through Friday. All food items will be donated to a local food pantry.
