FARGO – Two people were arrested for driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint conducted overnight in south Fargo by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Fargo Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The checkpoint was in place from 10:45 p.m. Thursday until 2 a.m. Friday on the northbound Interstate 29 off-ramp at 13th Avenue South.

A total of 246 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, creating about a 20-second average delay for motorists, the patrol stated in a news release.

Ten drivers were tested for impairment, with two being arrested for DUI. Both of those drivers also were charged with driving under suspension or revocation.

Authorities also made two arrests for open alcohol containers and one arrest each for minor in consumption, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
