Weekend watch: Dropkick Murphys at The Hub
If their 2009 show is any indication, Boston punks Dropkick Murphys will get the crowd fired up (and drunk) when they play The Venue at The Hub, 2525 9th Ave. S., Fargo. Expect the energetic outfit to rip through classics like “Barroom Hero,” “Tessie” and “I’m Shipping up to Boston” (featured prominently in “The Departed”), as well as preview their upcoming album with the new single, “Rose Tattoo.”
What remains to be seen is how political the boyos get three days before the election. The Democratic rockers used “We got the Power” to campaign against George W. Bush and used “Take ’em Down” to support Wisconsin workers’ rights.
Music starts at 8 p.m. with Teenage Bottlerocket and The Mahones. Tickets are $27.50 in advance, $30 the day of the show. (866) 300-8300.
