An overview of brunch options in the F-M area

FARGO – Ask someone what their favorite brunch spot is in town, and they’ll probably get pretty excited.

Can you blame them? There’s a lot to like about brunch.

For starters, it’s the only meal that’s an acceptable combination of two other meals.

Want breakfast food? No problem. Order up an omelet, or indulge in bacon, sausage or pancakes.

Hungry for lunch instead? Chances are you can find those foods are also available. For example, the brunch menu at Maxwells in West Fargo includes pasta salad, country mashed potatoes and salmon fillet.

Additionally, brunch is something to look forward to because it’s typically associated with the weekend.

While some restaurants offer breakfast foods all day every day, the meals actually labeled as “brunch” are typically buffets offered only on Saturday or Sunday mornings.

That’s another perk: As a buffet, brunch is cost effective. You’ll get all the food you want, breakfast, lunch or both, for one price, so you’ll definitely be full when you leave. In the Fargo-Moorhead area, brunch can be found between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekends. Prices range from reasonable ($10) to higher-end ($20).

To get started brunching, we’ve put together a list of some places in town that offer brunch buffets on the weekend. If you don’t have a favorite brunch spot to brag about to your friends yet, now you can find one.
