Fargo man arrested on drug charges near gas station

FARGO – Police say a Fargo man who was reportedly trying to sell methamphetamine at a gas station early today told officers that it was actually sea salt in the baggie and that they could search him.

So they did, and found two other baggies, one containing what was believed to be marijuana and the other containing a substance also believed to be a narcotic, Sgt. Jim Kringlie said.

Police had responded to a report that the man had approached someone at the pump at the Stop-N-Go station at 1401 S. University Drive and offered to sell them meth, Kringlie said.

Travis Burnett, 29, who lives near the gas station, was arrested on suspicion of distributing an imitation drug, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, Kringlie said.
