Fugitive Focus: Matthew Henry Peterson
He is also sought on a warrant for unpaid child support.
Detective Steve Gabrielson of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department said Peterson is accused of taking items from at least three rural residences over a span of several weeks this summer, then pawning at least some of those items at shops in Fargo.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report:
• Peterson is accused of pawning a generator, disc sander and chainsaw on July 1 that belonged to Alden Johnson, a Prosper-area resident. The items were pawned at Used-A-Bit Sales and Pawn West on 45th Street in Fargo.
• A snow blower was allegedly pawned by Peterson at Used-A-Bit Sales and Pawn West that belonged to Luella Holmquist, who owns a home just north of Fargo. The snow blower was pawned July 10.
• Coins stolen from another home near Casselton were allegedly pawned by Peterson at Northern Coin of Fargo, though no date was given on that transaction. A marking on a gold piece helped identify the group of coins that had been stolen.
Trail cameras allegedly captured photos of a mid-1990s Chevy Blazer Peterson was known to have owned at two of the residences, the report said. Also caught on camera was a Ford Ranger that was identified as belonging to Peterson, the report said.
Peterson was also convicted in 2004 of Class A misdemeanor forgery in East Central District Court in Fargo, documents show.
