Letter: Kasper quietly helps peopleAfter reading a recent letter to the editor criticizing Rep. Jim Kasper, R-Fargo, I decided I had to respond. I have known Kasper for about 20 years.
My business involves working with farmers in the area. A farmer client of mine recently had a problem with the Bank of North Dakota and the State Land Department involving a foreclosure that could have resulted in the farmer losing land that has been in the family for generations. I asked Kasper if he could help resolve some difficult issues to save the land for the farm family. His efforts were instrumental in the land being saved.
Even though neither the farmer nor I live in District 46, Rep. Kasper cared enough about this matter to make a difference. The family will be forever grateful for his assistance.
It is easy to criticize people you do not know. However, when a legislator helps people, hardly anyone ever hears about it. Kasper has helped many people in the years I have known him. I thought people should know the Jim Kasper I know.
