Fargo police target texting while drivingFARGO – Police here will have additional officers looking for people texting while driving this week in hopes of preventing crashes.
People who text while driving may commit other unintentional traffic violations, and officers will be watching for those, as well, Sgt. Ryan Dorrheim stated in a news release Wednesday.
The Fargo Police Department conducted its first texting-while-driving sting operation in August, citing 17 people with a $100 ticket for the violation. North Dakota’s texting ban took effect on Aug. 1, 2011.
