Send-off planned for 191st Military PoliceFARGO – A send-off ceremony for about 30 North Dakota Army National Guard soldiers deploying to Cuba is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fargo Armed Forces Reserve Center.
The soldiers are members of the 191st Military Police Company based in Fargo, with detachments in Bismarck and Mayville, N.D., who will join 120 U.S. Army Reservists as part of the mission at Joint Task Force Guantanamo.
Expected to attend the ceremony are Gov. Jack Dalrymple, Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota adjutant general and Rep. Rick Berg.
The mission of Joint Task Force Guantanamo is to conduct safe, humane, legal and transparent care and custody of detainees, including those convicted by military commission.
