Letter: Dalrymple ready to lead his stateAs a person who has run for elective office many times, I compliment the two candidates for governor on the civil campaign they are conducting.
All governors in recent memory, from Bill Guy to John Hoeven, have been a credit to our state. Today, Jack Dalrymple is my choice because he is perhaps the most prepared candidate we have ever had for this office.
Dalrymple is that rare combination of successful agri-businessman, student of history, legislative leader as chairman of the appropriations committees and as lieutenant governor. He knows our state budget better than anyone.
We are at a crossroads, going from ninth- to second- largest oil producer after Texas. We have an abundance of mineral riches. We are a leader in production of many commodities. How we allocate these riches over the next few years will determine what our whole area looks like in the future.
I hope you will agree that a steady hand and thoughtful proposals and solutions presented by the governor are in our best interest.
Jack and Betsy Dalrymple are a forward-looking, active and prepared team to lead our state.
