North Dakota Highway Patrol vehicle damaged in crash

FARGO – A South Dakota woman caused extensive damage to a North Dakota Highway Patrol vehicle here when she allegedly ran a red light Sunday afternoon.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol:

Trooper Luke Hendrickson was heading north through the intersection of Interstate 29 (Exit 64 ramp) and 13th Avenue South. When he crossed 13th Avenue to 36th Street South, a vehicle failed to stop at a red light, and went into the intersection before Hendrickson.

Hendrickson struck the vehicle driven by Heather Grajczyk, 45, of Sisseton, S.D., on the driver’s side.

Grajczyk and her passengers, a 14-year-old girl and 16-year-old girl, refused medical treatment at the scene. Hendrickson also refused medical treatment.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Damage of the squad car was estimated to be $4,000.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
