Flood diversion authority to meet on TuesdayFARGO – A special meeting of the Flood Diversion Board of Authority is set for 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Fargo City Commission chambers.
The purpose of the meeting is to decide whether to authorize the chairman of the authority to make a formal request to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to analyze and further refine a ring levee plan for the communities of Oxbow, Hickson and Bakke in Cass County.
The concept of a ring levee appears to have potential for mitigating the impact of a diversion on the three communities, according to a statement released Friday by the authority.
The statement also said it is apparent additional information should be developed to allow an informed decision on whether a rink dike should be included in the project.
