Power outage affects downtown Fargo

FARGO – More than 60 Xcel Energy customers lost power just before noon today in downtown Fargo.

One phase of a transformer was knocked out, causing the outage, Xcel spokesman Mark Nisbet said, adding it’s unclear if rain or wind was a factor.

It affected 62 customers, including businesses on Broadway, starting at 11:54 a.m. The estimated time for power to be restored is 2:34 p.m., according to Xcel’s website.
