Weekend watch: Silent Movie NightFriday and Saturday
The fall season starts the march to the Oscars, but one classic will be on the big screen in Fargo this weekend. Buster Keaton’s “Sherlock Jr.,” a black-and-white comedy, gets the silver screen treatment at the Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway, for the annual Silent Movie Night.
Lance E. Johnson supplies a live and original score on the Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ while the Fargo Theatre Big Band All-Stars, under the direction of Dr. David Ferreira, open the evening with Russ Peterson’s tribute to Johnny Hodges of the Duke Ellington Orchestra at 7:30 Friday and Saturday nights.
