MSUM Women’s Center to host colloquiumMOORHEAD – The Women’s and Gender Studies Colloquium will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday in the Women’s Center at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Featured speaker will be Mara Morken, a community artist and LGBT community organizer. She has created three art installation projects in downtown Fargo and is also the founder of We Are Family, a program of the Pride Collective and Community Center.
Morken organized the inaugural Glitter Gala last fall, a fundraiser for the Collective, and the second annual Glitter Gala is set Nov. 3.
The colloquium series is a program of MSUM’s women’s and gender studies department and highlights MSUM faculty and student research that focuses on feminist, women’s and gender issues.
