Police ask for help with DARE programMOORHEAD – Police here are asking for assistance with their anti-drug curriculum used in local elementary schools, according to a Moorhead Police Department news release.
The Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or DARE, program will begin January in fifth-grade classes across Moorhead, but police are asking for financial donations to help pay for textbooks, graduation
T-shirts and other resources necessary for the program, the release said.
The Police Department reports that schools that participate in the DARE program report lower alcohol, marijuana and cigarette use among their students than those that did not participate.
Those who donate will receive a certificate and a DARE window sticker. Checks can be made out to Moorhead Police DARE Program.
