Style Profile: Student keeps style classy, adds an edge
I spotted Lee at Atomic Coffee in downtown Fargo looking sweet and stylish in her leopard-print skirt, slouchy boots and soft red cardi that complimented her coloring.
What are you wearing? My skirt is from a thrift store, boots are from Journeys, my cardigan is from H&M, and watch is from Heartbreaker in Minneapolis.
How would you describe your style?
A classy combination of sophistication with some edge. I love fitted looks, along with studs, ties and zippers.
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
I am a boot hoarder. I cannot live without them, and I wear them year round. My favorite pair is tall brown leather riding boots.
Where do you get style inspiration?
My mother was always up to date on the latest trends, and she has a very classy sense of style. She is my favorite partner to shop with. Also, I love to keep up to date on what celebs, particularly Audrina Patridge and Emma Roberts, are wearing. I love Audrina’s “put- togetherness” and Emma’s indie style.
Who are your favorite designers/brands? I don’t have a specific brand or designer that I like. I don’t bind myself to a certain name, but instead go for whatever catches my eye.
What’s your favorite current trend?
My favorite current trend is lace – lace tops, dresses, skirts, accessories, etc. Something about lace is so elegant and lovely. I love lace.
Has your style changed over the years?
In high school, I didn’t care about fashion. Right after high school, I moved to Virginia for six months, and then to New York City for three months. Living in those two places definitely influenced my style.
Do you have any advice for people who want to look stylish in cold weather?
Boots and scarves make any outfit look better. A cute coat is a must, too.
