ND state parks see nearly 1 million visitorsBISMARCK — State park officials say nearly 1 million people have visited the park system so far this year.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that the number of visitors to the parks through September is just shy of the 1 million mark. This is a 13 percent increase over the third quarter last year.
State Parks and Recreation Director Mark Zimmerman says North Dakota's park system is thriving. He says that instead of cutting services or closing parks, North Dakota parks officials are looking at how to improve them.
