Prescribed burns planned near LisbonLISBON, N.D. – As weather conditions allow, the U.S. Forest Service will conduct prescribed burn treatments on the Sheyenne National Grassland over the next few months.
The burns are planned in eight units ranging in size from 100 to 800 acres, totaling nearly 3,100 acres.
Prescribed burns aid the health and regeneration of prairie habitats while discouraging the growth of invasive species and unnaturally hazardous fuel loadings.
