Weekend watch: Kegs and Canvas and Oktoberfest

Tonight and Saturday

Downtown Fargo gets into Oktoberfest starting tonight with the tapping of Kegs and Canvas. Similar to the summery Corks and Canvas, for a $10 wristband, those 21-and-older can roam from one downtown Fargo establishment, stretching from Nichole’s Fine Pastry, 13 8th St. S. up north to McNeal & Friends, 506 Broadway.

Each spot offers samples of seasonal suds from 5 to 9 p.m. Those more interested in art than beer can take part for free. Those wanting more beer will want to be downtown Saturday for the Oktoberfest 2012 celebrations.

A pub crawl starts at 11 a.m. rambling from the Rhombus Guys Pizza, 606 Main Ave., to Mahoney’s Bar & Grill, 305 Broadway. Other events include a wiener dog costume contest and run, a hot dog-eating contest, music by Odell Braaten, Games to Go and more.
